Undressed Series - In Conversation with Francesca Allison
In conversation with Francesca Allison, a Melbourne-based creative, currently immersed in the profound realms of self-love and deep friendships.
When do you feel most like yourself?
Surrounded by the people I love where I can fully be me, flaws and all without a second thought. Other times would be dancing to a really good song. Walking down a street I have never seen before, by myself, with some nice jazz in my earphones, ( I really like discovering new streets ) and cooking a really long yummy dinner.
What part of getting ready for the day brings you the most pleasure?
Most definitely the 30 minutes I spend in bed before I start my day, usually just gazing out my window with an oddly clear mind. Then there is my coffee ritual whilst I send my roommates off with goodbye cheek kisses as they begin their days out.
What's on your bedside table?
An empty pine scented candle, ( A weird Christmas edition I found at my brothers that he had from years ago, can’t bring myself to let it go even though it is well over done ) Assortment of random jewellery ( not my current rotation ) Quiet mind sleep spray, Clear quartz, Maison Balznac water jug.
What is your favourite (almost) free feeling?
My sleepy time tea in my bed as my end of day ritual, music in the car with friends and a fresh haircut and blow dry.
What does being in love feel like for you?
An all consuming, raw and endlessly exciting feeling. Love is something that continuously allows me to grow and transform into another version of my growing self. I have always found it hard to completely explain what love feels like for me but it is something so euphoric yet terrifying at the same time.
What type of love is dominating your life at the moment?
Currently definitely in a mix of self and friendship love. This year I have put a lot of energy into fostering connections and it's unbelievable how many new enriching connections and friendships I have made through putting my focus and energy towards it.
What's one thing you can't live without?
Tea, potatoes and of course the family and friends that guide me through this complex life.
What form of movement do you crave the most?
Either hot mat or reformer pilates and noncurated dancing.
How do you lure pleasure to the surface in everyday life
Lately I have been really trying to lure a sense of pleasure and sexiness in the way I feel everyday. Whether that be washing and blow drying my hair more frequently, always wearing my signature scent even though I’m working from home, taking myself out on dates and really giving into the romanticisation of being by myself.
